Be surprised by these interior makeovers

Sometimes the best interior design projects are surprisingly close at hand. Whether it's a bedroom in need of a makeover or a complete dream home, a good renovation can work wonders. In this article, I tell you about two remodelling projects that not only changed the interior, but also the entire atmosphere and energy of the rooms. Be inspired by these stories about a luxurious bedroom and a colourful dream home.

The chic hotel bedroom

This makeover was carried out by Nancy Faber, co-founder of The Home Style Club. Nancy has a passion for colour and interior design and is a real DIY enthusiast. She has a passion for discovering new design items and webshops. For this makeover, the choice fell on her sister's bedroom in Bussum - a space that was in desperate need of a good dose of luxury and atmosphere.
Although the house exudes character, the bare white bedroom was a stark contrast to the rest of the stately home. Nancy decided to transform the room into a luxurious hotel room - a place where her sister could not only relax, but where everything had its practical and stylish place.
The goal was clear: to create a relaxed space with a luxurious hotel atmosphere. Nancy set to work with a mood board full of rich colours and glamorous elements. Two artworks in warm colour tones formed the basis of the design and set the atmosphere. Nancy added her favourite colours of purple and green, complemented by chic details and atmospheric lighting. Decorative mouldings and an eye-catching bed add to the room's appeal.

The small details make all the difference. For the bedside table, Nancy chose the retro ‘Merge’ cabinets in the same dark green colour as the walls. This deep colour exudes luxury and is enhanced by the golden accents of the elegant lights above - a subtle touch of glamour. With a beautiful book as the finishing touch, a corner has been created that is both stylish and personal.
The result is a bedroom with a warm, luxurious feel that perfectly matches her sister's personality. Would you like to see the complete remodelling? Then read Nancy's blog or watch the video in which she shows the transformation.

Orange Love - Laura's dream home

In the second makeover, we take a look at the home of Laura (@thuisbylaura), style icon in The Home Style Club. Together with her boyfriend Aart, she has transformed her new home into a true dream home. The couple opted for personal touches and bold colours throughout the house, with the central theme being orange - Laura's favourite colour.

‘The transition from a happy single life to living together as a bonus mum was a big step,’ says Laura. ‘I wanted to create a home where we all felt completely at ease. Orange had to play a central role in this, as it radiates so much warmth and energy. Together with Aart, who happens to be a builder, we completely remodelled our home. I'm incredibly proud of what we've created.’

In addition to the orange accents, Laura and Aart opted for deep aubergine tones, such as the Toste side table, which exude luxury and perfectly match the rest of the interior. The aubergine-coloured frames, stairs and curtains create a uniform effect and give the home a modern, chic look. In the living room, a sunny earth colour was chosen for the walls to enhance the warm atmosphere.

In the living room, Laura has dared to combine different types of wood. The Zuma sideboard with its unique shape and light wood colour matches the calm floor perfectly. The use of different materials creates a warm, cosy atmosphere without being too cluttered.

Laura's favourite colour is reflected in subtle ways, for example in the armchair with an orange print in the extension. The orange-coloured fireplace is the eye-catcher of the living room and creates a cheerful, energetic look. In the seating area, Laura has opted for the Xhail side table set from WOOOD - anything but boring and yet a calm starting point in the centre of the room.
